The CDOT library has the resources to help you with your research. There are two options available for staff at CDOT:

  • A Literature Search seeks to confirm what is known about a particular topic.
    • List of sources
    • 2-3 week turnaround
  • A Literature Review uses the literature search to help to clarify the scope of the research project.
    • Comprehensive detailed overview of sources
    • 4-6 week turnaround

This service is for employees across all regions. To request a Literature Search/Review complete this formThe librarian will then contact you for a brief intake meeting and begin the process.

Research Reports

In 2022 the Library digitized all published CDOT Research Reports from the 1950's through the early 2000's. As a result, full-text copies can be found in the CDOT Library catalog. For complex searches utilize the Advanced Search features to find reports by author, title, date or keywords

The CDOT Library is working to update access to all of our reports. If you cannot find a report, you can request it using the Research Report Request Form. We will update everyone when they all have officially been added to our library catalog.

NEPA Documents

The Library has digitized all published NEPA documents by the Colorado Department of Transportation. These documents are currently being added to the library's catalog. Until this process is completed, you can request assistance from the librarian when searching for a NEPA document using our NEPA Document Request Form.
